What is Swedish Massage?
Swedish massage was first found by Swedish fencing instructor Per Henrik Ling in the 1830s. In the western world, Swedish massage is simply known as a ’classic massage’. It is a whole-body massage that creates a calming and balancing effect on the superficial soft tissues and nervous system.
Massage technique
The Swedish massage application consists of long gliding strokes combined with kneading and tapping techniques to relieve muscular tension, improve blood and lymph circulation and make you feel relaxed. Additionally, Swedish massage involves the most classic forms of stroke techniques and this is the reason why it forms the basis for other massage treatments such as Aromatherapy or Hot stone massage.
